How to add a watermark to a video

  1. Pick your video. Your browser opens the file locally. Nothing leaves your device.
  2. Pick your logo. A PNG with a transparent background looks cleanest. SVG, WebP and JPG also work.
  3. Choose a frame. 9:16 crop fills a vertical phone screen (1080x1920) and trims the edges. 9:16 fit keeps the whole picture and adds black bars. 1:1 and 4:5 are the square and portrait feed sizes.
  4. Place it. Use the 3x3 grid or drag the logo on the preview, then set size, opacity and margin.
  5. Export. Best quality MP4 re-encodes the video with ffmpeg compiled to WebAssembly and copies your audio. Fast records the preview in real time with your browser's MediaRecorder, which is quicker to start but saves MP4 or WebM depending on the browser.

The formulas the tool uses

Logo size is a share of the output width, and the height follows the logo's own aspect ratio, so it never stretches:

logo_width = output_width x size% logo_height = logo_width x (logo_png_height / logo_png_width) margin = min(output_width, output_height) x margin%

For a 9:16 export at 20% size, the logo is 1080 x 0.20 = 216 px wide. Positions are measured inside the allowed area: x = left + f x (right - left - logo_width), where f is 0 for left, 0.5 for center and 1 for right (the same for rows).

The allowed area is the whole frame, or the safe zone when the box is ticked. Meta's Reels ad specs recommend leaving at least 14% of the top, 35% of the bottom and 6% of each side free of text and logos, because the app's buttons, caption and audio label sit there (Meta Ads Guide, Instagram Reels). On a 1080x1920 frame that is 269 px at the top, 672 px at the bottom and 65 px per side. TikTok also recommends vertical 9:16 for in-feed video (TikTok Ads Help), so the same frame works on both.

Tips for a watermark people do not scroll past

What is a logo clipping campaign?

The same watermark you just made is also an ad format. In a logo clipping campaign a brand pays pages to carry its logo or a short caption on content that is already performing, and pays per verified view instead of per post. Watermark advertising works because the brand shows up inside the video people chose to watch, not in an ad slot they skip.

The math is a plain CPM. On FindClout, logo and caption placement is quoted at a $0.20 CPM ceiling and typically delivers at $0.08 to $0.10:

cost = views / 1,000 x CPM 1,000,000 views x $0.20 / 1,000 = $200 (the most you pay at the ceiling)

FindClout runs these campaigns through roughly 15,000 vetted creators and pages across Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube Shorts and Facebook Reels. Every page has to clear a 40% US-audience floor, verified by connecting the account itself, and nothing goes live until the brand approves it. See how logo placement works on meme pages and what logo watermark ads cost.

Want your logo on a few million of these?

Brands: we put your logo on videos from vetted pages with American audiences and you pay only for verified views. Pages: brands pay you to carry their logo on posts you were going to make anyway.

FAQ

Is my video uploaded anywhere?

No. The video and logo are read by your browser and processed on your device. Nothing is sent to FindClout or any other server. The only download is the video engine itself (about 31 MB, fetched once from a public CDN) when you use Best quality mode.

Is this video watermark tool really free?

Yes. There is no signup, no export limit and no FindClout watermark added to your video.

Where should I put a watermark on a Reel or TikTok?

Keep it out of the areas the app covers with its own buttons and captions. Meta recommends leaving at least 14% of the top, 35% of the bottom and 6% of each side of a 9:16 Reels ad free of logos. Turn on Keep inside Reels safe zone and the tool does this for you.

Why is the export slow?

Best quality mode re-encodes every frame with ffmpeg compiled to WebAssembly, which runs on one CPU core, so a 1080x1920 clip usually takes longer than its own length. Fast mode records in real time, so it takes exactly as long as the video, but the file format depends on your browser.

Can I get paid to put a brand's logo on my videos?

Yes, through logo clipping campaigns. Brands pay pages to carry their logo on content that already performs, and pages are paid per verified view. FindClout runs these campaigns with vetted pages that have American audiences; you can browse open campaigns at app.findclout.com.
