How the clipping cost calculator works
Clipping campaigns are sold on a CPM: the price for every 1,000 views your brand gets inside content posted by creator pages. Because the unit is a view rather than an ad slot, the whole budget question comes down to one line of arithmetic, which the calculator runs in both directions.
Guaranteed views = budget ÷ CPM × 1,000 Budget = view goal ÷ 1,000 × CPMA $25,000 budget at a $1.00 CPM buys 25 million guaranteed views. A 10 million view goal at a $0.50 CPM costs $5,000. The cost per single view is simply the CPM divided by 1,000.
Why the paid social comparison is conservative
Meta, TikTok and YouTube bill per 1,000 impressions, and an impression is counted whenever an ad is served, including a thumb scrolling straight past it. A clipping view is a play of an organic post on a creator page. So when the table shows that the same budget buys a few million impressions on paid social against tens of millions of views through clipping, the real gap in attention is, if anything, wider than the numbers suggest. The benchmark figures are averages from public reports; your own ad CPMs will move with industry, geography, objective and season.
The benchmark CPMs we use
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram): $7.47 average Facebook CPM and $7.68 for Instagram feed ads per WebFX[1], up to a global all-industry median of about $19.81 for January 2025 to January 2026 per AdManage[2].
- TikTok: $9.16 average in-feed CPM in Q1 2026, ranging from $5.40 (retail and ecommerce) to $14.10 (legal) per Digital Applied[3].
- YouTube: $11.42 average TrueView in-stream CPM in Q1 2026 with an industry range of $7.20 to $19.40, and $4.85 for Shorts, per Digital Applied[4].
What a clipping campaign actually costs
Effective CPMs on the FindClout network typically run from eight cents to two dollars per thousand views depending on format. Brands buy at a CPM ceiling with a guaranteed floor of views, so the number you plan with in this calculator is the most you pay per thousand, never the least. Overdelivery is free, and campaigns routinely land at about 130% of the guarantee, which pushes the effective CPM below the ceiling. Exact pricing depends on format and vertical and is quoted within 24 hours.
Two more things change the real math. Creator payout per post is capped, so a single clip that runs away does not blow up the invoice: when a post does 10 million views, the brand pays for roughly the first 500,000 and gets the rest free. And a brand can remove any video or any creator at any time and does not pay for it.
What you are buying
Views are only worth their CPM if the right people see them. FindClout is a network of roughly 15,000 vetted creators and pages across Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube Shorts and Facebook Reels, concentrated in sports, finance, news, meme, politics and gaming. Every page must clear a 40% US-audience floor, proven by the creator connecting the Instagram account itself, so audience data comes straight from Instagram. Every post is reviewed by AI and by a person, and nothing goes live without the brand's approval.
FAQ
How do you calculate the cost of a clipping campaign?
Divide the number of views you want by 1,000 and multiply by the CPM. A 10 million view goal at a $1.00 CPM is 10,000 × $1.00 = $10,000. To go the other way, divide your budget by the CPM and multiply by 1,000 to get guaranteed views.
Is a clipping CPM the same as a Meta or TikTok ad CPM?
No. Ad platforms charge per 1,000 impressions, which counts every time an ad is served. A clipping CPM is usually charged per 1,000 verified views of organic posts on creator pages, so the comparison above favours paid ads.
What does a clipping campaign cost on FindClout?
Brands buy at a CPM ceiling with a guaranteed floor of views, overdelivery is free, and a quote comes back within 24 hours of a request on the advertise page. Pricing depends on format and vertical.
What happens if a campaign delivers more views than guaranteed?
Overdelivery is free. Campaigns routinely land at about 130% of the guarantee, so the effective CPM ends up below the ceiling you planned with.
What if one clip goes massively viral?
Creator payout per post is capped, which protects the brand from runaway cost. When a post does 10 million views, the brand pays for roughly the first 500,000 and gets the rest free.
