What is a clipper?

Clippers are the engine behind every clipping campaign. They turn long streams and viral moments into short clips that rack up millions of views, and they get paid for it.

A clipper is a creator who takes existing footage, a stream, a podcast, a viral moment, and cuts it down into a short, fast, vertical clip built for TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. They are not filming original content from scratch. They are editors and distributors, finding the best ten to sixty seconds inside something longer, sharpening it with a hook, captions and pacing, and posting it to an audience that is already primed to watch. Clipping has become its own job because the format rewards speed and volume, and a good clipper can turn one piece of source footage into dozens of clips that each have a shot at going viral.

What a clipper actually does day to day

The job breaks down into a repeatable loop: find footage, cut it, package it, post it, check the numbers, repeat. A clipper is not waiting around for inspiration, they are running a process.

Where the source content comes from

Source footage comes from an approved pool tied to a specific clipping campaign: a creator's back catalog, a live stream, a brand's raw content, or a moment a brand wants tied to something already going viral. Clippers do not source their own footage from anywhere they want. They pull from what the campaign makes available, which is what keeps the output on-brand and keeps every clip traceable back to a payout.

No following required, distribution is handled

This is the part that surprises people the most: you do not need an existing audience to start clipping. On a network like FindClout, the network itself owns the distribution, pages, accounts, posting cadence, all of it. A clipper's job is the edit, not building a following from zero. That means someone brand new can start earning on their first approved clip, because payout is tied to the views the clip generates once it is posted, not to how many followers the clipper personally has. How clippers get paid

Clippers are paid on CPM, cost per 1,000 views. A campaign sets a rate, and every qualifying clip earns based on how many views it actually pulls in. Most campaigns also set a minimum view threshold before a clip earns anything, so low-effort clips do not get rewarded, and a maximum payout cap per clip, so one runaway hit does not blow through the whole budget in a day. The mechanics of that rate are covered in the CPM explainer, and real numbers, including what top clippers actually bring home, are in how much do clippers make. Top clippers on active campaigns pull in thousands of dollars a month, and it scales directly with output and quality.

What makes a clip actually work

Not every cut performs the same, and the difference is almost always in the first second. The algorithm and the viewer make the same decision at the same moment, keep watching or scroll past, so the clip has to win that moment immediately.

How to start

The fastest path in is the FindClout Discord. Join, browse the live campaigns, pick one that fits what you already know how to cut, and apply. Once you are approved you get access to the source footage pool and the payout terms for that campaign, and you can post your first clip the same day.

If clipping sounds like something you want to try, join the Discord and see the live campaigns for yourself.
