How Trading Apps Grow on TikTok, Reels & Shorts (2026)

By Mark Walnut, Senior Analyst at FindClout — September 2026

Trading apps grow on short-form video through three routes: posting from their own accounts, paying creators, and paying established money pages to post for them. Own accounts are cheap and slow, creators are credible and expensive, and page networks are the fastest way to reach people who already follow money content. FindClout's trading app distribution covers the third route, from as low as $0.08 per 1,000 views.

Short version: Brand accounts rarely win on trading content because people do not follow a broker for entertainment. The formats that work are the ones the money pages already post: a hook about money, a short story or a number, then your product as the obvious next step. Test them on pages with an existing audience, keep every claim reviewable, and measure funded accounts instead of views.

Why Trading Apps Struggle on Short-Form Video

A trading app asks for money and personal data, and the audience scrolling short-form video has not yet decided to trust anyone with either. Branded accounts that post platform features get watched by existing users and ignored by everyone else. Paid social does not fix this cheaply. Appetiser's 2026 app acquisition report puts fintech cost per install at $7 to $20 or more globally and $22 to $51 in North America, and an install is not a funded account.

When we searched for how trading apps grow organically on TikTok and Reels, the results were generic social tips and a few job postings. Almost nothing finance-specific is published, which is part of why we are writing it down. The content below is based on how the pages in our network post, not on a survey of the industry.

Formats That Fit a Trading Product

Money story carousels

A short story about someone's financial decision, with the app appearing on the second slide as the place it happened. Carousels hold attention because people swipe for the ending, and the product placement reads as part of the story.

Tweet cards

A card styled like a post from your handle, laid over a clip the page was going to post anyway. It works because it looks like the content around it. See the trading app tweet card and logo formats for examples.

Logo placement on money clips

Your mark sits on clips about business, markets and entrepreneurship. This is the lowest-effort route and builds recognition rather than direct sign-ups.

Explainers

Thirty-second videos on one concept: what a limit order is, what fractional shares are, what a margin call means. These suit your own account and creators, and they rank as search content later.

What to avoid

Screenshots of gains, "I turned $500 into" stories and anything that implies the viewer will make money. They draw views, they draw regulators, and they bring in people who leave after one losing week.

How Each Platform Behaves

The same clip does not perform the same everywhere, and it helps to know what each platform rewards before you plan a test.

Post the same core idea on all four, but cut the opening differently for each. A hook that names a number tends to work on TikTok, and a story that finishes on a payoff tends to work on Reels. Treat those as starting hypotheses to test, not rules.

Which Route to Start With, Ranked

If you are a brokerage or prop firm starting from zero, this is the order we would test in. It is a judgement call, not a law, and your own funnel data should overrule it.

1

Your own account, for explainers

Cheap to start and it gives every other route somewhere to send people. Expect slow reach. Read about trading education clipping once you want to scale beyond it.

2

A few reviewed creators, for trust

The strongest credibility per post and the highest cost per view. Agree wording first, and see options trading clipping for what to put in the contract.

3

A managed page network, for reach

Best for pay-per-view reach on business and finance pages, which is where FindClout fits. It does not replace a creator with a personal following. Details are on the distribution page.

What It Costs

Own-account costs are mostly staff and editing time, and creator fees are negotiated per deal, so we will not put numbers on either. Here is ours. A logo campaign on FindClout is quoted with a ceiling of $0.25 per thousand views and averages as low as $0.08 at scale, with about 130% average delivery against what was bought. At the ceiling, one million views costs $250. At $0.08, it is $80. The network has delivered 408M views on finance and entrepreneurship pages and 1B+ network views since July 2026.

Views are not accounts. If one in every few thousand viewers opens an account, you can work out your own cost per account from your funnel, and that number, not the CPM, is what decides whether the channel works. We cover how to do that arithmetic in clipping campaign pricing.

A Simple Test Plan

  1. Pick one claim. Commission-free, fractional shares or a learning feature. One message per test.
  2. Make three hooks. A number, a story and a question, so you can see which opening holds people.
  3. Run for two weeks. Use a tracked link or code that identifies the route.
  4. Read the funnel. Views, link clicks, sign-ups and funded accounts, in that order.
  5. Scale the winner and drop what did not move accounts.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do trading apps grow on TikTok?

Mostly through creators and pages rather than their own accounts. The formats that work are money stories, tweet cards, logo placement on business clips and short explainers, all reviewed for compliance first.

Can a brokerage advertise on TikTok?

Platform policies on financial products are strict and change over time, so read TikTok's current advertising and branded-content rules before planning paid placements. Organic posting and page partnerships are separate from ad policy but still need compliant wording.

What is the cheapest way to get views for a trading app?

Pay per verified view on pages that already have a money audience. FindClout quotes a $0.25 ceiling per thousand views with an average as low as $0.08 at scale.

Do short-form views turn into funded accounts?

Some do, and the rate depends on your offer and onboarding. Track a link or code per route and measure cost per funded account instead of cost per view.

Should a trading app run its own TikTok account?

Yes for explainers and credibility, but do not rely on it for reach. Followers of a broker's account are mostly existing customers.

What should a prop firm avoid in short-form content?

Payout screenshots, income claims and any suggestion that passing an evaluation is easy. Stick to rules, features and education.

How long until short-form marketing shows results?

A two-week test gives you enough data on hooks and early funnel rates. Funded accounts lag views, so judge the channel over a longer window than the posts themselves.
